1. The customer confirms that they wish to proceed with the transaction.
The customer progresses through the first stage of the transaction as normal by:
• selecting their credit card
• entering in their CVV number and
• specifying the amount.
The customer will then confirm the transaction to begin processing.
2. The client connects to The ECash Processor.
3. The ECash Processor begins to process the transaction.
Once The ECash Processor receives the transaction the customer is informed that their transaction could be subject to 3D processing. This page also provides further information regarding 3D processing:
• If you have already registered with 3D Secure you will be asked to verify your card to complete the transaction
• If you have not registered with 3D Secure, you can register as you go, quickly and easily and all subsequent transactions will be smooth and fast.
4. The customer is informed that this transaction is going to be processed as 3D. This will result in the transaction being processed in a new browser window.
Once The ECash Processor identifies that this transaction is being passed through the 3D secured processor, the customer is then informed that the process will be performed in a new browser window.
5. The 3D transaction begins with the card being checked for 3D capability.
The transaction is now being processed by the acquiring bank checking to see whether the card issuer is participating in the relevant 3D secured program.
If it has been identified that the card issuer is not participating in the 3D secured programs the transaction will continue to be processed returning a successful or failed transaction response.
6. If the card issuer is participating in a 3D program the customer is redirected to the card issuer’s 3D secured page.
• If the card is not already enrolled in the 3D secured program:
Once on the card issuer’s 3D secured website the customer will be required to enroll in the 3D secured program by providing the following information:
o Expiry date
o CVV code
o Name on card
o Cardholder date of birth
o Cardholders email address
The customer will then be required to provide a 3D secured username and password/PIN for their card issuer’s 3D program.
• If the card is already enrolled in the 3D secured program:
Once on the card issuer’s 3D secured website the customer will be asked to confirm their secret 3D secured password/PIN with the issuer.
Once the customer has completed the requirements on the card issuer’s 3D pages the transaction continues to be processed.
7. The transaction will then result in a success or failure with a receipt from the acquiring bank being displayed.
8. The client then redirects back to the success/failure page and the transaction is complete.
